Who we are
Ray Liu is a licensed massage therapist serving the State College area. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1999. After a long career in mental health, Ray chose a different path to help people and graduated from Integrated Bodywork School of Massage Therapy in 2024. He continues to provide clinics there for Penn State varsity athletes.
Ray is certified in Sports massage, Swedish massage, Neuromuscular techniques, Myofascial Release, and Cupping.
As a lifelong ultimate frisbee player, Ray has used massage therapy to help alleviate aches and pains, thus allowing him to maintain focus, return to playing and perform to his potential. Now as a massage therapist, he is dedicated to help people enjoy these benefits and to facilitate well-being.
From his career in mental health, Ray has developed skills as an empathic listener and effective communicator. As a healthcare administrator, he learned how to gather information and process it into concise and relatable format. He uses these skills to listen to the needs of the client, assess their condition, collaboratively develop a treatment plan, explain the therapy, then provide treatment.
Ray is a State College native. When not playing ultimate frisbee, he is probably training for his next 5k race or half-marathon. He also enjoys photography and spending time with his wife and son.
